Our best sheep hunt. Highest success and typically the largest rams. We are the only outfitter in the area that has UTVs it takes a week to drive them into the area once we have them flown into the nearest village more than 100 miles away. You will still have to climb and staying out in a spike tent for a portion of your hunt may be necessary. Hunting the same are since the early 1980's we know the country intimately. The Master Guide is a Commercial Pilot and FAA licensed mechanic. Guides all carry SAT communication with the lodge. Long time guides and staff. Description
Alaskan hunts are tough. We have 90% opportunity to stalk trophy class Rams. Your personal physical and mental preparation will be the determining factor in success. You do not need to go fast. You need to be steady. Keep placing one foot in front of the next, onward and upward, and know it will be tough. We have guided a 24 year old that was physically fit, he quit on day 2, and had a 72 year old hunter take a sheep, moose, and a caribou in 10 days. Be in the best possible physical and mental condition. Our guides will not run you into the ground or run off and leave you. That is not how we operate. We will hunt as hard as you are willing and physically able so long as it is safe. This is your hunt, we are there to help you be successful.

THE BOOT SYSTEM WORKS. If you decide to bring something else you are at your own risk. Call with questions. We can help you with the boot system. 40 years in Alaska guiding has proven this boot system. □ Camp Shoes (comfortable slip-ons, Crocs work great) □ Gaiters – Required on all hunts with Goretex Hipboots (Outdoor Research Crocodiles or Kuiu are the best ones) DUE TO THE DISTANCE OFF OF THE ROAD SYSTEM, ALL GOODS AND BAGGAGE MUST BE BROUGHT TO CAMP BY SMALL BUSHPLANE. SUIT CASES, RIGID CAMERA CASES AND HARD GUN CASES WILL NOT BE FLOWN OUT TO CAMP. IF YOU ARE TAKING MEDICATION PLEASE BRING 2-3 TIMES THE AMOUNT YOU NORMALLY TAKE (i.e, IF YOU TAKE 2 TABLETS PER WEEK, BRING 6 TABLETS PACKAGED IN SEPARATE CONTAINERS). RAIN GEAR & OPTICS SHOULD BE OF THE BEST QUALITY. Minimum rifle calibers and bullets .243/6mm min sheep/caribou, 30.06, 300 win mag. with 180 grain or larger for moose/black bear, .338 Win.Mag. min. prefer 250 gr. Bullets for brown bear/grizzly. Bullet selection is as important as caliber and weight: bonded core or mono-constructed bullets Example: Barnes TSX/TTSX, Swift Aframe, Scirocco, Hornady Interbond or GMX, Nosler Accubond) Please NO VLD BULLETS (Examples: Berger, Hornady ELDX, Sierra) These bullets are specialized tools designed to expand violently at low velocities for extreme range shooting. While very accurate we have seen many wounded animals due to improper terminal performance from VLD bullets. Wounded animals constitute a filled tag. NOTE: Most game is taken at 200 yards or less. A shot over 400 on sheep is occasionally required, moose normally under 200, bears 100-150 yards. Camp is BYOB so feel free to bring your favorite adult beverage.

What to Bring
- Gear is important. The right gear will help and the wrong gear can ruin you and destroy your hunt. Fit and weight sum up most of the problems with gear. Primarily backpacks, rifles, and footwear. You will be intimate with all by the end of your hunt. Backpacks, raingear, and footwear are the most important pieces of your hunting kit for an Alaska. They MUST FIT! I cannot stress this enough.
